Rather than letting COVID-19 put a damper on their special day, Kevin & Emily decided to make it even more memorable! They shifted their big plans to the place where they shared their first date. An unexpected, super cool venue, the Charlotte Knights Stadium! This was the perfect spot for their Truist Field Wedding

Kevin & Emily were married at the Knight’s Stadium on the Truist baseball field. Saying “I do” on home plate with Uptown Charlotte as a ceremony backdrop, baseball ticket wedding invites, fun themed wedding gifts (like personalized baseball bat beer mugs and various team socks for the groomsmen), custom baseball jerseys, a surprise Ramsey appearance from the bride to her groom, and an incredible eight minute firework show that all of Charlotte was able to enjoy! This Truist Field Wedding day had it all!

Truist Field Wedding

Kevin & Emily had their first date at the Knight's baseball field and now live in Uptown Charlotte, just outside the stadium walls. We enjoyed roaming all over the empty stadium and field, photographing details and soaking in the atmosphere along the way. The bridesmaids and groomsmen got ready in separate locker rooms and it was super neat seeing where the baseball player's get ready for their games.

Kevin & Emily went to rival schools (UNC & NC State). So we love that she chose to sport a red lip and red shoes to represent her school and Kevin’s least favorite color. HAHA!

These two had such a unique ceremony experience. Kevin & Emily literally stood on home plate while exchanging their vows. They spoke into a microphone for the whole city of Charlotte to hear. It was special imagining the people of Charlotte listening in as welcomed guests and audience members to this sweet ceremony. Later on, while walking through the streets, people shouted out happy congratulations to the bride & groom and said they heard their wedding vows.

It was a magical declaration of love and joy! The officiant, a great friend of the couple, had the ceremony kick off with lots of baseball references (a “let’s play ball”) and a crowd wave from all fifty of Kevin & Emily’s invited guests sitting in the stadium seats. Our favorite moment from this Truist Field Wedding was when the officiant added a part to the vows, where Kevin had to promise to be a Wolfpack for life. Which made everyone roll with laughter.

Their tented reception was held on the top floor of the stadium, overlooking skyline views. Photos of the couple shined bright on the field's big screen while guests enjoyed drinks and dinner. After the toasts, it was time for Emily's big surprise for her new husband. Rameses, the UNC Chapel Hill mascot ran out and greeted Kevin with a big hug. Everyone was dying with laughter while we all watched Rameses jumping around and dancing. Their reception was filled with good toasts, great drinks, southern food, and tons of dancing - Thanks to Rameses for setting the mood for the rest of the party!

We loved stealing them away for some cute one-on-one moments in some of their regular walking spots outside the baseball field. When we returned to the stadium, Emily went running across the ball field daring Kevin to come chase after her. We laughed while watching as the newlyweds played together in front of our cameras. Emily happy to have gotten in a little run for the day. These two are adorable and so in love.

Last but not least, to top off the night, the couple gifted the entire city of Charlotte with a huge fireworks show! Before the big day, Kevin made flyers and hung them up all over the city, so people could share the time and details of the event and be able to stop and watch the show. How cool is that?!

Kevin & Emily, you two have something special! We loved being a part of your joyous day and wouldn't trade the memories for anything. Thanks for sharing your sweet love story with us!
