Welcome to The Kimpton Cardinal Hotel Wedding, in Winston Salem with Reid & Shalee!
They chose a historic hotel in the heart of Winston and we loved that the hotel was decked out in Christmas decor. Reid wore a custom suit and burgundy jacket. Shalee wore a stunning Bellissima dress & navy heels. But we love how she kept her signature black doc martin compact boots handy for the reception. We loved their unique style and the whole vibe of their day.
They started things off with a private first look, high up on the hotel’s private balcony, overlooking the smoke stacks and downtown Winston Salem. It was a chilly December day with overcast skies but it only added to the romantic moody ambience of the entire day.
Reid & Shalee were a dream to have in front of our cameras and were very trusting. We felt like we had a good idea of their vision from the get-go and were so happy to help them bring it to life through their photos. You may remember our NODA adventure session with them from last August, which we think really helped set the tone for their wedding day aesthetic.
When it was time for the ceremony, Reid & the bridal party walked in with the Game Of Thrones theme music, which was a perfect touch and fun for everyone to hear. Then Shalee’s dog, Liebe, walked down the aisle with her very own custom made bridal dress on and completely stole the show. We have two Australian Shepherds of our own, so getting to spend the day with another Aussie pup was like getting to spend the day with our own dogs.. Liebe is the sweetest! Also, anytime you can choose to have your dog a part of your wedding day, just DO IT. Having them there is so special and having them a part of your photos is priceless. We love that Liebe not only got to walk down the aisle with her humans, but also got to spend the morning getting ready with Shalee. It’s so great that the Kimpton Cardinal Hotel is pet friendly!
