Ritchie Hill Wedding | Josiah & Mattie

On September 30th these two were married! It was a perfect day and the first break from the Summer’s heat. We met up with this sweet couple at the beautiful Ritchie Hill in historic downtown Concord. Being that we live just five minutes away from this pretty venue, we were already smitten with it’s historic beauty and couldn’t wait to photograph a wedding here. Finally, Josiah & Mattie’s day came and we couldn’t have been more excited to document their day!

You may remember these two from their Winter engagement session and from the bridal session we did with Mattie (also at Ritchie Hill). We’ve mentioned before how we instantly connected with this couple but we can’t thank these two enough for truly trusting us and giving us creative freedom from the start. Because of that, we were able to capture gorgeous moments with these two for each of their sessions and wedding day. We can’t stress enough how wonderful this couple is and how grateful we are to know them!

One of our favorite moments of the day was the ceremony. Their Pastor spoke about what to expect in their new married lives and how to face everything together as one team. He asked Mattie what was one thing that stood out to her throughout their premarital counseling sessions and she had answered, “that we’re not only marrying the person they are today, but the person they will become later.” Hearing the pastor continue on and realizing Josiah & Mattie’s spiritual maturity and understanding brought huge smiles (and happy tears) to our faces. We know that these two were made for each other and loved being able to witness this incredible joining of their lives.

Another favorite moment was getting to steal the couple away for the last bit of daylight. We could feel their giddiness as a newly married couple and wanted to capture every sweet moment we could. These moments are always so special to us because these will be the photos we know our couples will look back on in times of joy and even in hardship. We always want these photos to be a happy reminder of the amazing memories that were shared on their very first day of being married.

Josiah & Mattie, your day was so special to us and we hope these memories are treasured for years to come. You two have a unique love and we can’t wait to see how God continues to bless your marriage! Thank you for letting us capture your happy day!
