New Orleans Wedding | Mark & Dana
When we first met Mark & Dana over FaceTime and they told us they were having their wedding on a rooftop in the French Quarter in New Orleans, we knew it would be an awesome day to witness! Not to mention the fact that we immediately adored this couple and their sweet personalities. Everything added up to a fantastic match made in heaven!
Their big day took place on Christmas Eve Eve! We started our day off by exploring the famous Bourbon & Canal streets which were located just outside of the Ashor Hotel where Mark & Dana were getting ready. We wanted to capture the atmosphere of New Orleans and couldn’t have found a better place to start. There was constant music in some form or another, and a lot of drumming on buckets. Colorful beads hanging off of all the street signs and power lines. And everything done up in it’s Christmas finest in honor of the holiday season.
Dana first met Mark when she was working at Banana Republic as a cashier. He returned in hopes of finding Dana again and giving her his number. After that, they went on their first day in New Orleans and the rest is history!
We knew we wanted to find a cool spot that yelled, ‘New Orleans’ and so when we found a beautiful orange wall with the two huge potted plants we knew it would make the perfect framing for their First Look location. After that, we found some gorgeous sunlight shining through one of the side streets and took full advantage of the warmth (photographically & literally). We had also found a really cool green wall that we wanted to do the bridal party portraits at and the best part was finding out that it was located at the same place Mark & Dana shared their first date. How cool is that?!
Since Mark & Dana had decided on a rooftop wedding at night, we knew we had to do all their main photos before sunset. We traveled from the hotel to the beautiful wedding venue, at the Riverview Room, and took a few minutes to look around. As soon as we could, we stole the couple away for the last bit of daylight. We loved walking around the french quarter with them and finding pretty places to photograph. We even found the perfect side street to have them stand in without having to worry about too much traffic. We loved the entire atmosphere of their December day and feel so happy to have been a part of it. These two were a blast and trusted us completely, which we are so grateful for.
Mark & Dana, thank you for being so wonderful and for inviting us along for your big day in New Orleans! Best wishes to you both!!
XO,
Mark & Kelly
