NC Mountain Wedding | Mike & Cua
I talked about how I first met Cua, in her Zumba class, when we posted their incredible Blue Ridge Parkway engagement session. It was simply written in the stars for us to witness their special day! But just to ensure things would work out, Mike & Cua asked us when WE were available and THEN chose their wedding date accordingly. If that’s not ‘perfect’ clients, then I don’t know what is?! We love that having our photography for their wedding day was the top priority to them and we are forever grateful for clients (and friends) like these two. Not only did they pick their wedding date based on our schedule but they were also committed to trusting us completely. We can’t explain enough how important it is for couples to relax and let us do our thing! We ALWAYS take the best photos when we know our brides’ and grooms’ truly trust our style. Mike & Cua are one of those perfect couples for us. In fact, Cua even changed into her hiking shoes right before their one-on-ones (bride & groom pictures)! Ummm, seriously I told you these two were perfect. We LOVE that they were ready for an adventure with us! Mike even asked us upon arriving to the venue, “hey, did you guys see that waterfall on your way in.” We excitedly answered, “yesss!” He replied, “Great, wanna hike to the top of it for our bride & groom pictures?!” Seriously, Mark and I are completely smitten with these two and their adventurous spirits!
Mike & Cua planned their intimate mountain wedding at their parent’s cabin house. It overlooks the Blue Ridge Mountains and has absolutely wonderful views. These two kept things small and simple with only their closest family and friends. We loved watching Cua’s brother walk her down the aisle. And the moment their guest threw lavender on Mike & Cua after they were married! They also themed their invitations and some of their decor based on Lord of The Rings, travel, and adventure. They even drank “Viking Blod” (honey wine) out of a horn for the unity portion of their ceremony! And as if all that wasn’t cool enough, Cua also decided to drop the mic and blow everyone away with her handmade bridal gown, made by HERSELF! Areyoukiddingme?! These two are just one of those couples who are so awesome and they don’t even know it. Hopefully, looking back at these photos will help them see how truly magical and lovely their special day was (and how totally cool they are). It was certainly one of our favorites from the year and we can’t thank them enough for letting us be a part of it. Here’s to Mike & Cua! And hopefully plenty more like them!! Congrats you two!
XO,
Mark & Kelly
