Meet Matthew & Alexa and their Erin’s Pavilion Wedding! When they met on Christian Mingle, he was from CA and she was living in FL. In a happy accident of Alexa changing her preferences to search for matches up to 2,300 miles away, she popped up on his “who’s online feed”. Matthew went for it and said the first hello, and the rest is history!
Alexa is originally from Springfield, Illinois and that’s where these two decided to host their very special wedding day. Erin’s Pavilion was their venue and on a perfect, sunny day, Matthew & Alexa exchanged their vows and joined together in marriage.
We loved everything about this special day but our favorite part was how joyous the entire day felt. It is so obvious that these two are absolutely crazy about each other and couldn’t wait to finally join their lives together. We love that these two have chosen to put God at the center of their relationship and we can see so clearly that they were made to be together. Our favorite detail from their day was Alexa’s gorgeous locket that hung from her bouquet. Inside was her favorite scripture. Quite fitting, “Matthew 17:20,” which talks about having faith the size of a mustard seed in order to move mountains. Matthew & Alexa even started a business based on the scripture, a store called The Yellow Mustard Seed where they sell local art. Alexa is a talented artist herself and displays her work in their gallery in CA. How cool is that?!
Erin’s Pavilion Wedding
Alexa, full of surprises, planned an exciting surprise just for her groom to enjoy. On their wedding day, she arranged to have a vintage Rolls Royce for them to ride around and take photos in. It was an absolute blast getting to photograph these two with the classic car and even more fun to be able to sneak them away for a little one-on-one time. After the vintage surprise, the sun began to set perfectly over their venue. Matthew & Alexa were completely trusting and truly valued their photography. We encouraged them to continue walking together, hand-in-hand, and to focus on one another before these fleeting moments were over. They were so grateful for the time alone, kissing, walking, and soaking in the gorgeous sunset that God had provided them. We couldn’t get enough of their contagious laughter and were delighted to keep snapping through the beautiful moments unfolding before us.
Finally, the sun disappeared and dusk had settled. The couple’s wonderful family and friends greeted them back and the dancing and yummy cake eating commenced. The collection of antique chandeliers hanging above the dance floor set the perfect mood for their special dances. The atmosphere of their reception was fun, energetic, and full of cake eating on the dance floor.
