Blue Ridge Parkway Engagement | Mike & Cua
I first met Cua a few months ago when I attended a Zumba class at my local gym. My first two thoughts were: 1. This chick is an amazing Zumba instructor and 2. I want her to be my new best friend! But seriously though, I immediately researched and learned her class schedule so that I wouldn’t miss any of them in the future! Is that creepy? Well, even so.. This girl is awesome and I am so glad that we met and became friends! She told me (before she was engaged) that she loved our photography and that she wanted pictures of her and her beau, Mike, at some point in time. I immediately knew that Cua not only loved, but completely understood our style. She has no idea what her compliments meant to me at the time, but I’m forever grateful that she shared them with me. Fast forward to months later when she got engaged and texted me (I’m pretty sure the same day!) that she wanted us to document her wedding for her! I was ecstatic to hear from her and giddy that Mark and I would actually get to work with my new Zumba BFF! 😉
So when I said that Cua got our style… this girl just gets it. I love when we can connect with our couples on a deeper level and they give us their complete trust. That is when we can create our best work. This session was without a doubt one of our favorites to date. Mike & Cua immediately knew that the Asheville mountains would be a fitting place to document their engagement pictures and we were all in! Everything about this day was so wonderful. I can’t explain it but it was just one of those days that I needed as an artist. I needed to feel inspired. I needed the long drive there with my music blaring loudly.. I needed the mountains and the beautiful sunshine.. I needed Mike & Cua and their perfect understanding and trust in us. Words can’t express how good it feels when everything comes together in a way that sparks inspiration deep inside, but I was lucky enough to have it that day. Mark and I will be forever grateful and we can’t wait to witness Mike & Cua, say “I-Do” in the mountains in September. We know it will be another wonderful day and we can’t wait to document it.
