Barclay Villa Wedding | Colin & Lexine
You may remember these two from their incredibly fun stopmotion session at Raven Rock. Or from Lexine’s killer bridal session. Colin & Lexine chose the beautiful Barclay Villa to host their romantic wedding day. This place was literally a castle, fit for a queen. Enter Lexine! This stunning bride is one strong, independent woman. Together, her and Colin are a perfect match in every way. Neither of them were looking for a serious relationship when they first met but fate had other plans and they soon learned that “life was just better with the other person in it!”
This power couple decided on a November wedding at this awesome venue and we can’t imagine a more perfect spot for them to become one. The Barclay Villa is an unbelievably romantic venue and is dripping with statues, greenery, fountains, hidden corridors, and gorgeous details. We loved the separate bride and groom getting ready rooms and had so much fun exploring every corner of this castle. The ceremony was held outside with a small balcony overlooking. One of our favorite moments was seeing Lexine appear up high on the balcony, overlooking all of her guests, before making the long walk down the aisle to meet Colin. The whole day felt so grand and elegant but yet so relaxed and real.
When we got to the huge reception/ball room, we were in awe over the massive staircase that the couple would soon walk down to greet their guests. The whole room was lit with garland and twinkle lights and flickering lanterns. And our favorite detail was the couple’s oversized, antique, king & queen chairs positioned in front of the huge fireplace. Just shy of an actual “throne,” we think these chairs were absolutely awesome and bold. We loved the couple’s romantic first dance and then capturing the super creative toasts to the bride & groom, including the song “Satisfied” from Hamilton! Everyone was on their feet and shouting “to the groom!” & “to the bride!” It was a killer moment to photograph and had us grinning ear-to-ear behind our cameras.
From their intimate First Look at the start of the day, to their grand reception with amazing music and dancing, this day was a complete dream to be a part of. When describing the look and atmosphere of this incredible day, we can’t help but think of how perfectly it describes Colin & Lexine. Two absolutely awesome and bold people. Joining their lives together and becoming a power team! We have loved getting to know these two and sharing in some of their most special moments.
