Alexander Homestead Wedding | Kevin & Courtney

Alexander Homestead Wedding | Kevin & Courtney

Do you remember Kevin & Courtney?! If you missed their absolutely awesome beach engagement session (in Fort Fisher), then you should go over and check it out! We have adored these two ever since first meeting them via FaceTime and even more so after getting them in front of our cameras, by the sea (a personal favorite spot of ours). Everything from their love, to their personalities is absolutely contagious! And they both have the biggest smiles to go along with it. Being around them both is like a breath of fresh air, so documenting their day was a complete delight!

They chose to tie the knot at the beautiful Alexander Homestead in Charlotte, NC. It was a dreary, Autumn day with scattered rainstorms and a little chill in the air. However, nothing could put a damper on Kevin & Courtney’s day and their excitement to say “I-Do!” We love that about them! Courtney even kept telling us how beautiful the rain and the color of the leaves looked, and we completely agreed. We love her positive attitude and laid back personality. And both her and Kevin’s wonderful perspectives allowed our creativity to flourish, to provide them with the absolute best documentation of their day. We felt so honored to have been the one’s capturing all their happy moments.

Despite the early afternoon rains, the sky began opening up just in time for their First Look. We told Courtney she could greet Kevin with an umbrella if she was worried about her dress but she didn’t even hesitate to toss it aside in preparation of ‘living in the moment.’ We told you she was awesome.
Kevin was facing away, so as not to see Courtney yet. She slowly began walking up behind him and he turned around and greeted her with the biggest smile on his face. Once they embraced, they decided to go ahead and exchange their vows together, in private. We LOVED this idea and told them to go for it!
They both shed lots of happy tears as they spoke their promises aloud to one another and we could barely hold it together, as we watched from behind our cameras. It was the sweetest moment ever and definitely one of our favorites to date.

After some super fun one-on-one moments and bridal party pictures, it was time for the ceremony. The rain continued to hold off which was perfect for their outdoor ceremony plans. Beneath sparkling twinkle lights they exchanged their vows for the second time, in front of their family and friends. Then, the most amazing sunset began peaking out from the clouds just as they were officially married. We’ve never seen such a beautiful pink and orange sky, perfectly timed for their first kiss. It was completely magical.

It was time for their reception in the barn and their first dance. We love the song that they chose by Florida Georgia Line. The words seemed to perfectly describe them and had everyone completely swooning. They danced the night away and even opened up the huge barn doors so their guests could enjoy some sweet treats by the bonfire. It was an awesome day!

Kevin & Courtney, we had an absolute blast with you both and can’t say how much we loved documenting your special day. Thanks for choosing us and for being so lovely to work with. We love you guys and can’t wait to see where you’re life together, leads you!

XO,
Mark & Kelly
