Welcome to Vesuvius Vineyards! This amazing historic venue, in Iron Station NC was making our hearts swoon as we love homes with beautiful vintage character. The owners are a lovely husband and wife duo (our favorite!) and we thoroughly enjoyed roaming around their stunning property.
The day was overcast but luckily we didn’t see a drop of rain. Perfect for photos! We also adored how the bridesmaids dresses sort of matched the weather and mood of the August afternoon.
The groom, Alex, is British and was the first to reach out to Ashley on an online dating site. They met up for a coffee date and the rest is history!
Alex & Ashley found us through their sweet bridesmaid, Lisa, whose wedding we shot in 2018! It’s always the biggest honor to be referred from our past couples!
We took a golf cart over to a nearby covered bridge that was a perfect backdrop for a romantic first look. It was obvious that Alex & Ashley were carrying some nerves around until the moment they finally got to see each other.
We really liked the indoor/outdoor ceremony space in the coolest little barn transformed into a chapel. The bride’s brother and cousin sang beautiful hymns and we absolutely loved getting to witness the worship music during their ceremony. It was completely awesome.
Alex and Ashley had such a fun bridal party. They chose Disney themed center pieces for their reception tables and played each table’s theme song to release guests to the buffet line. The centerpieces were all DIY. And Alex & Ashley even saved all their yogurt jars for months, to use as candle holders.
Lastly, we loved getting to steal these two away for their romantic one-on-ones. They popped champagne at dusk and shared a stroll along the property line. It was a wonderful August evening, with twinkle lights sparkling off in the distance.
Alex & Ashley, we loved having you two in front of our cameras for your special day. We wish you two all the happiness in the world!
