Meet Scott & Libby! Two beautiful souls living in NYC, studying acting, and loving life. It’s apparent within two seconds of meeting these two, that they both love God, and love people. They’re quite possibly the sweetest couple… ever. Completely selfless, caring, and very well matched. Everyone knows that you attract likeminded people, so we knew from the get-go that Scott & Libby’s family and friends would be wonderful as well. And my goodness, they are!
These two took a complete hands-on, DIY approach to their entire special day and decided to host their wedding on Libby’s parent’s 45 acre farm. How cool is that?! Libby’s parents are complete gems and we adored getting to roam freely all over their property. They were so welcoming and we could tell right away how much attention to detail and love they had poured in to their daughter’s day. We were swooning over all the sentimental details we saw. The bride’s necklace was her mother’s engagement ring and she also wore her mother’s veil. Couple photos of Scott & Libby were hung on the trees that formed a path leading guests to the ceremony. Antique doors (from their family’s home) were used to frame the ceremony spot, placed perfectly on top of a hill and overlooking a lake. A long piece of white fabric draped down from a huge tree, beautifully framed the altar. And a gorgeous vintage rug sat beneath the swaying fabric, to mark the place where Scott & Libby would exchange their vows. Libby’s brother even officiated the wedding and added good humor and great advice. The whole scene was simply gorgeous and we loved the dramatic view it lended to this magical day.
Being in school in a creative field, most/all of Scott & Libby’s friends are creatives themselves. Their theater friends all traveled from New York for the day and even entertained all the guests with their musical talents. We loved getting to hear them play and sing. It was a perfect treat for Scott & Libby’s laid back reception, under the tent. Guests also got to enjoy the best brunch, with mimosas, macaroons, pancakes, bacon, chicken & waffles, and countless other delicious foods. Oh yeah, and our favorite… COFFEE! They had a special station completely dedicated to housing a coffee bar.
It was the last day in November and the weather was calling for rain all afternoon but it only rained for about 30 minutes, early in the day. God blessed Scott & Libby’s wedding day and by the afternoon even gave us some pretty sunshine. A completely perfect November day, with gorgeous fall color and unexpectedly amazing weather.
Scott & Libby decided to take their romantic one-on-one photos after their reception to allow plenty of time to wander the property and have some alone time. These two were beyond excited and trusting for their pictures and we felt so grateful to be granted with so much creative freedom. We enjoyed getting to witness these two and their first special moments as husband & wife.
Scott & Libby, you two were a dream to work with and we felt your generosity throughout every interaction. We feel honored to have been by your sides on this amazing day and can’t wait to see how your marriage blossoms. Love you both!
