Meet Kevin & Blythe! Two creative souls whom we absolutely adore!
They both live in New York but decided to host their special day in the historic Carolina Theatre, in Greensboro NC. Blythe grew up performing in plays there and they both have a huge love for theatre and art.
We love that Blythe decided to wear a colorful bridal gown. The top part is a beautiful white with lace sleeves and the bottom is a gorgeous pale blue/green color. Paired with some adorable pink, feathered flats and her vintage veil from her grandmother and we were smitten over her entire ensemble. Kevin also had a killer style for his big day! He wore a custom Indochino blue suit, capped off with the coolest antique cat tie clip, and a pair of smiley faced cuff links. To say that we love these two and their unique personal styles, is an understatement.
Although, Kevin & Blythe said their “I-Do’s” on stage in a huge historic theatre, their wedding day was actually quite intimate and small. They decided to let the theatre’s interesting architecture and vintage details do most of the talking and kept their guest list to very close family and friends.
It was such a cool feeling being in The Carolina Theatre with these two. Kevin & Blythe had the spotlight all to themselves and we soaked up every minute this sweet duo shared with us. Like 99% of our couples, they were a bit camera shy before things got going but once we chatted more with these two, and their happy day was underway, they quickly forgot about the cameras and lived up their day to the fullest. Kevin got ready in the theatre’s backstage dressing rooms and we were loving the dramatic vibes the entire setting had to offer. Blythe got ready a block down the street at the beautiful Biltmore hotel. We loved the gorgeous natural light that poured into this small space and it was a perfect spot for this makeup artist to apply her final bridal touches.
One of our favorite moments of the day was seeing Kevin’s reaction during their private First Look. His face completely lit up upon turning around to see his beautiful bride for the first time. It was the sweetest! Shortly after, their awesome bridal party joined the couple and we took some fun photos outside of the theatre. We even got to get them all up on the fire escape, which was completely awesome! Their friends were all so delightful to work with and we enjoyed every minute with this fun crew. Soon after their killer cool ceremony, we got to sneak Kevin & Blythe away for some really “dramatic” one-on-one photos. We particularly adore the one’s of them all alone on the stage and even got to utilize the theatre’s ghost light for some creative shots. It was COOL! Then, we took these two for a stroll up on a nearby parking deck to snag the last few minutes of sunset. Because the day started off with such a dense fog, we weren’t sure we would even see a sunset. But deciding to get up above ground level at the right moment allowed us to capture the most PERFECT glowing light. It was an amazing time!
We got these two back to their super fun reception where they dined, toasted, and danced the night away. We thought the day couldn’t get any cooler but this is Kevin & Blythe we’re talking about, so we knew they would end the night with a bang. They finished up their reception and we all drove down the street to the Boxcar bar + arcade for a little after party fun! It was such a blast getting to see these two “play” the night away and photograph them hanging out with their friends under a rainbow of colorful lights. We love how much Blythe adored her bridal bouquet and kept it close by her side throughout the evening. It was hilarious watching her pass her bouquet off to Kevin so she take her turn at skee ball. They ended the night rocking out to some Guitar Hero, a game they like to play together back home. These two know how to have fun and we love that they made their day, completely them!
Kevin & Blythe, we love your creativity and that you were totally down for anything and trusted us throughout your day. We had a blast with you both!! “Break a leg!” Uh, we mean, BEST WISHES to you both!
